Trouble pulling on a shirt or hooking a bra?

One of the most common shoulder issues is impingement. It is common among the general adult population as well as in overhead athletes such as swimmers and throwing athletes. Impingement is when there is a pinching of the rotator cuff muscles in between the top of the humerus bone they attach to and the acromion process, a bony prominence from the shoulder blade that makes a bony roof over the ball and socket joint of the shoulder.
Ever feel like you’ve overstretched a muscle?
A common cause of hip pain that we treat at Loudoun Sports Therapy Clinic is a hamstring injury. The hamstring muscle group is located on the back side of the thigh and is made up of three muscles. It’s common for a quick scan of the internet or visit to a doctor to reveal a vague diagnosis of tendonitis or bursitis as the primary cause of that pain. While these works may or may not reflect the correct cause of the painful symptoms, how many of us actually know what these terms mean?
Four Reasons To Take Ankle Sprains Seriously
By: Cierra Washington, ATC
It’s been estimated that roughly 25,000 people in the United States suffer from an ankle sprain every day. When most people hear the words “ankle sprain” they think of damage to the ligaments or stabilizing structure in the ankle joint. Like most injuries, there is a classification based upon the level of damage. Grade I ankle sprains occur when the ligament(s) become “overstretched” but not torn. Grade II and III ankle sprains involve a tear to the ligaments.
