Are you feeling:
- Pain across the low back into the buttock and hip area
- Stiffness and limit motion
- Swelling
- Inability to maintain positions
- Muscle spasms
If you are experiencing any of these symptoms you may be dealing with a lumbar strain. A lumbar strain is when the muscles or tendons in the back get overstretched or tear. Microscopic tearing can occur suddenly due to injury or develop overtime. Strains are classified into varying degrees based on the severity of the injury.
What causes a low back strain?
There are many factors that can cause a low back strain, these are a few of the most common causes:
- Sudden injury
- Prolonged positioning with poor posture
- Repetitive motions
- Incorrect form with exercises
- Lifting heavy objects
Whether you have been:
- Staying home and watching more movies
- Sitting at a make shift office to work from home
- Starting a new home workout…
If any of these are done with poor posture, for extended periods or increased repetition it may lead to debilitating pain in your low back.
