Return-to-Play Program
Are injuries keeping you out of the game? Are you struggling to recover after an injury?
It is important for us to remind you that Injury prevention is our goal. However, recovering from injury is essential and we are here to help when injuries occur.
At Loudoun Sports Therapy Center in Sterling, VA we offer a Return To Play Program for athletes & weekend warriors. This program is for those of you that have experienced an injury or underwent surgery and are looking to get back to a specific sport.
What is a return to play program?
Our return to play program is a post physical therapy option for athletes. Physical therapy focuses on helping an athlete improve strength, range of motion, balance and mobility while relieving pain and inflammation. Once those have been handled, our return to play program offers the athlete a sport-specific personalized program.
This program works to safely, effectively and quickly return the athlete back to playing their sport at full intensity. During your sessions, the athletic trainers constantly assess your needs related to joint proprioception, drive, power, agility and ability to change direction quickly.
It goes a step beyond physical therapy, and helps prevent the injury from reoccurring when you return to the field, track, or court.
Do I need to have physical therapy before starting a return to play program?
Yes. It is our professional opinion that an injury should be treated with physical therapy first. This allows us to manage pain, inflammation, and assess you for more acute needs before working on higher level programs. Once the physical therapist has cleared you to return to play, we will start the program.
We offer physical therapy centrally located to Fairfax and Loudoun County. LIVE LIFE Pain Free with Physical Therapy!
