I believe the term you’re looking for is “Rotator Cuff” and its main purpose is to encapsulate the shoulder joint and provide support. Now that that is out of the way, let’s get down to business.
What is the Rotator Cuff?
The Rotator Cuff, RTC, consists of four muscles: Subscapularis, Supraspinatus, Infraspinatus and Teres Minor, that all come together to stabilize the shoulder’s multi-directional movements. Whether you experience a partial or a full tear in your RTC, a lot of the same actions are happening inside of the joint.

Posture plays a huge role in all of our activities. We are so busy throughout the day that we usually don’t pay much attention to our posture, especially while we work, watch tv, or stand. The increased use of cell phones, tablets and computers has made forward head posture a problem for many and a common postural problem we see in our clinic.
Over time, forward head posture can cause:
– Neck pain
– Decreased neck motion
– Shoulder pain
– Decreased shoulder motion
– Upper back pain

We are presented throughout our day with various different postures with sitting and standing being the most problematic. We are required to hold and maintain these postures for long periods of time. Over the course of this time our body and muscles that support these postures begin to fatigue and we start to take on a more slouched posture.

Weakness in the knee is a common problem for every age group and one we treat often at Loudoun Sports Therapy Center.
Symptoms
Our patients typically report:
- Pain in the front of the knee
- Pain with prolonged standing
- Pain with walking or running
- Pain when they are getting out of the car or rotating/twisting the knee
These symptoms often cause the patient to have difficulty performing everyday tasks due to their limitation in motion, strength and pain.

Many people have heard and will use terms like “tennis elbow” and “golfer’s elbow” but what exactly is the difference?
Not much really….Tennis Elbow and Golfer’s Elbow are both overuse injuries that are caused by any activity that requires repetitive motion of the arm and wrist. The difference between the two conditions lies in where the elbow is inflamed.
Both of these conditions are forms or epicondylitis, which is a medical term for inflammation of a tendon that attaches to bone (Epicondyle) of the elbow joint.
