Can physical therapy help?
Yes, it is typically most useful in the early stages. Along with rest, incorporating some gentle range of motion and stretching exercises in addition to manual therapy can be quite helpful in managing the symptoms.
***If you have had an injury involving the neck/spine it is advised that you see a doctor first!
Physical therapy can incorporate both passive and active treatment. With passive interventions including manual therapy or massage therapy techniques allowing the body to relax, to restore soft tissue mobility and better manage symptoms. With the goal to progress to a more active/resistance strengthening or postural strengthening program to better support the spine and restore the individual to normal daily function.
